Cornelia Walsh Gotham Wingard was born on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 8:42 A.M. (local time) . She weighed 5 pounds eight ounces and measured 20 inches long. She is as pretty as a peach and her parents Mike and Ken, and grandparents Connie and Roy and Mary and Roy are very proud of her. If you don't believe me just ask them.

HOME GOING - DOROTHY MCKINNEY WHITMORE

Dorothy was born on March 3, 1927 to Ionia Welch McKinney and Edward Mckinney in West Monroe, Louisiana. Dorothy was married to Leslie Whitmore in 1944 and moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1946. She was the mother of six children, a role model and mentor of many. There is no one who met her that did not love or admire her in some form or fashion. She had an open door policy, anyone who came to her home was always welcome to eat or sleep. She enjoyed cooking and always cooked more than enough. It was often asked of her why she always cooked so much...she would say, "don't worry about how much I cook, somebody might come by hungry, if they do, there will be enough for them too." Although her name was Dorothy she was affectionately known as "Whapo," which is Spanish for Beautiful One. She leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Martha Wooten, Duane Whitmore, and Devi Laws (Scott), one Stepson Royal Wilcox, one niece Zarita Williams, two nephews, Bernard Williaams and Nico Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Ionia Welch McKinney and Edward Mckinney, two brothers Wesley and George (GB) McKinney, two sisters Doretha Williams and Gloria Jordan. Three sons Clifford Earl Whitmore, Johnny Lee Whitmore, Orlando Whitmore and one great nephew Aaron Williams. Momma's grand kids: Cheryl Banks, Anthony Banks, Ricardo (Ricky) Crockett, Mario Jones (Carrrie), Leia Johnson (Fonzie), Nichelle Carter (Andre), Jermaine Wooten, Sheila Walker, Nichole Whitmore, Derrick Whitmore (Charo), Jasara Whitmore, Kiaescha Whitmore, Duane D. Whitmore (Brittany), Bryan Barnes and Sierra Laws, Tamara Gisendaner, Jamie Gisendaner.

Great grand Kids: Preston Funchess (PJ) Mario Jones, Alex Jones, Jaslynne Jones, Anthony Banks Jr., Demeisha Banks, D'Mariae Banks, Arrielle Banks, Alyssa Banks, Aaron Banks, Tasha Jones, Tiffany Woods, Lorenzo Crockett, Courtney Maxey, Derek Whitmore, Dara Whitmore, Darius Whitmore, Angelia Earl, Angela Earl, Angel Walker, Saejean Whitmore, Djimon Whitmore, Kymani Whitmore, Jordan Whitmore, Jovanni Whitmore, Andre Carter all of Las Vegas and DeVante Carter, El Paso, Tx

CONNIE CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY

in Atlanta with family. On August 13 Connie celebrated the big day. Kevin and his family, Angela, Kourtnee and Kamryn hosted the big event. Ken and Mike were there for the occasion and Ray Bennett also was there for his Aunt Connie's special event. It was a great time for the family to spend some time together and everyone had a great time. Thanks Kevin and Angela. We must do this again. Kevin you did great on the grill, I am sorry to say that you did not learn the grilling from your father.

After the Atlanta Birthday Celebration, Connie and Roy drove home with their newest granddaughter to baby sit for a week while Ken travelled to New York. Connie says good by to Ken and Coco at the Savannah Airport.
